Notes:  According to family sources, Layton* Ernest Ford was born 26 Dec 1915 in Kanab, Kane Utah.  His parents were Willard Eugene Ford and Myrtle Roundy.  Iona Sarah Hooks was born 21 Feb 1915 in Provo, Utah, Utah.  Her parents were James Reece Hooks and Louisa Bertha Muhlestein.  Layton, 20, married Iona, 21, on 26 Aug 1936 in Utah County, Utah.  They had one daughter, Loretta, born 21 Oct 1938 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. The 1938 and 1939 Sparks, Nevada, City Directories list them at 1129½ B, and Layton (or Leighton) is working for the Southern Pacific Co. In the 1940 U.S. census, Leighton E. Ford, 24, and his wife Iona Ford, 25, were living at 1129½ B [Street], Sparks, Washoe, Nevada.  Leighton was a machinist apprentice, working for the railroad.  He had completed four years of high school.  Iona had completed four years of high school.  Their daughter Loretta was one year. The marriage ended in divorce on 3 Jul 1943, Provo, Utah, Utah.  Iona later married Owen Rumel Peterson.  Layton had two more spouses, Sarah Nicoletti and Cleo Spicer Brown. *Layton is sometimes spelled Leighton.
