Notes:  According to family sources, Sims Matheny Hawley was born 11 Apr 1867 in Deseret, Millard, Utah.  His parents were William Schroeder Hawley and Nancy Sabrina Matheny.  Arizona Church was born 16 Mar 1877 in Williamsport, Maury, Tennessee.  She was often called Zona.  Her parents were Thomas Holiday Church and Harriet Elnora Burchard.  Sims Matheny Hawley, 26, married Zona Church, 16, on 1 Jul 1893 in Millard County, Utah.  They had a family of nine children.

In the 1900 U.S. census, Sims Hawley, 33, born Apr 1867, and his wife Zona Hawley, 23, born Feb[?] 1877, were living in Oasis, Millard, Utah.  Sims was a farmer, and they owned the farm, with a mortgage.  They had been married five[?] years, and Zona had had four children, three still living.  The children, all born in Utah, were Lorain, 3, born Oct 1895, Nina, 3, born May 1897, and Golden, 1, born Oct 1898.  Also in the household was an aunt, Malinda Duggins, 71, born Oct 1828 in Mississippi, a widow who had had eight children, two still living;  and Sims' mother, Nancy Hawley, 62, born Nov 1837 in Arkansas, a widow who had had ten children, eight still living.

In November 1909, Sims, an Elder in the LDS Church, was called to serve in the Northwestern States Mission, for an unknown length of time.

In the 1910 U.S. census, Sims M. Hawley, 43, and his wife Zona Hawley, 33, were living in Oasis, Millard, Utah.  Sims was a farmer, and they owned their farm free of mortgage.  They had been married 16[?] years, and Zona had had six children, five still living.  The children were Lorain, 14, Nina, 12, Golden M., 11, Paul Q., 8, and Armond, 3.

In the 1920 U.S. census, Sims M. Hawley, 52, and his wife Zona Hawley, 42, were living on Eagle Street in Eureka, Juab, Utah.  They were renting their residence.  Sims was a farmer, farming on his own farm.  The children at home were Armond B., 12, Melvin J., 7, Eldon B., 7, and Maron, 3.  The oldest three attended school.

Sims Matheny Hawley died at home on 3 Dec 1927 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.  At the time of his death his residence was 46-- H Street.  Cause of death was bulbar paralysis caused by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease.  He was buried 6 Dec 1927 in Oasis Cemetery, Oasis, Millard, Utah.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Zona Hawley, 52, was living on State Road in Oasis, Millard, Utah.  Now widowed, Zona was the owner of the alfalfa farm.  The children at home were Melvin J., 18, Eldon B., 18, and Maron, 14, all attending school.

Sins M. Hawley, Arizona C. Hawley Zona Hawley has not been found in the 1940 U.S. census.  She died 8 Aug 1962 in Spanish Fork, Utah, Utah of causes incident to old age.  Services were held Saturday, 11 Aug 1962 in the Oasis Ward chapel.  She is buried with her husband in the Oasis Cemetery, Oasis, Millard, Utah.
