Notes:  Frank Wilfred Olson was born 12 Aug 1924 in Alhambra, Los Angeles, California.  He was five minutes younger then his twin Frank Wilfred Olson.  Their parents were George Angus Olson and Mattie Walton.  Their older brother was Robert Walton, born in Dec 1919 in Washington.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Wilfred was living with his family at 419 South Sixth Street, Alhambra, Los Angeles, California.  His father George, 47, owned a sash and door manufacturing company.  The family owned their home valued at $5,000. and had a radio set.  The children were Robert W., 10, attending school, and the twins Wilbur and Wilfred, age 5.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Frank was living with his family at the same address.  Their home was valued at $3,000.  His father George was the manager or yardman for the Olson Lumber Company.  The children at home were the twins, Wilbur G. (George) and Frank W., age 15, who had completed one year of high school.

Frank attended Alhambra High School in Alhambra, graduating in 1942.  Identified as Wilfred in the school yearbook, the Alhambran, he was the Commissioner of Athletics, and participated in varsity basketball (named "Most Valuable Man" in 1941), Sr. Hi-Y, the Senior play and the Usher Club.  A member of the "Straight Stretches" or "Longfellows", he was the tallest at six feet, five inches.

Following high school, Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 through 1945.  He is on the Muster Rolls of the LST 1146 on 30 May 1945 when it was commissioned.  It was a tank landing ship which served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater until Nov 1945.  Returning home, Frank went to work for the Olson Lumber Company in Alhambra, owned by his uncle Frank Thomas Olson.

Frank W. Olson married Mary L. Ashlock on 7 Oct 1947 in California, exact place unknown.  They had a family of four children.

In 1953, Frank and Mary were living at 4527 N. Sultana Avenue, Temple City, California.  Frank was a salesman for the Olson Lumber Company.  By 1956, Frank and Mary were living in their life-long home at 325 South Third, Alhambra, California.  Frank was a salesman for the Mullen Lumber Company in San Gabriel, California.  Frank then joined his older brother Robert Olson in Olson's Screens, before opening his own company, Frank Olson Screen Company, in San Gabriel in 1962.  He ended his career working for Reliable Lumber in Rosemead, California.

Frank and Mary retired to San Diego, California.  Frank Wilfred Olson died 9 Aug 2015 in San Diego, San Diego, California.  He is buried in the Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, California.
