Notes:  Augusta was born in Massachusetts.  She married Otis Dean in the late 1840's.  In the 1850 U.S. census, they were living in Foxborough, County of Norfolk, Massachusetts with a daughter Mary A., age 1.  By the 1860 U.S. census, they had three sons, Frederick, Arthur, and Edwin.  A boy, Otis E. Dunbar, age 12, was living with the family, probably a relative of Augusta.  By the 1870 U.S. census, Augusta had had four more sons, William, Ernest, Harry, and Herbert.

By the 1880 U.S. census, the family had moved west, and were living in Arcadia Township, Carroll County, Iowa.  Ernest and Herbert may have died, as they are not listed with the family in the census.

In the 1900 U.S. census, Augusta and Otis, with Mary, Edwin, and William, were living in the Ontario Township, San Bernardino County, California.  Also living with them was Mary E. Allen, a servant, who would shortly marry Edwin.  The census reports that Augusta had had nine children, six of whom were then living.  This leaves one child unaccounted for.

In the 1910 U.S. census, Augusta was widowed and living with her daughter Mary on West 6th Street, Ontario, California.  According to her headstone, she died in 1911, and is buried in the Dean family plot in Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, California.
