Notes:  Andrew Detwiller was born between 1842 and 1844 in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario.  He was the fifth child of Christian Detwiller and Marian Campbell.  The family resided near the place called Motherwell, on a 160 acre farm.  His mother died in 1858.  In 1871 he married Jane Moore in the Avonbank Presbyterian Church.  They had three children, namely Alexander B. (Alex), Harry C., and Albert.  In the 1881 and 1891 Canada censuses, his father Christian was living with their family.  Andrew was a farmer.
Click to enlarge In 1885, Andrew built a brick house, seen at left, located on Lot 31, EMR (East Mitchell Road) Concession, Fullarton Twp., Perth.  This is the lot that originally belonged to Christian.

Andrew died 7 May 1901 of liver disease, and is buried in St. Marys Cemetery, Blanshard Twp., Perth, Ontario.  He shares a grave monument with his son Albert, who had died in 1900, and father Christian, who died in 1891.
