Notes:  Lucy Henrietta Shaw was born 13 Nov 1893 in Eramosa Twp., Wellington, Ontario.  She was the third child of William James Shaw and Margaret McLaughlin.  Her father was listed as a farmer on her birth record.  In the 1901 Canada census, the family was living in Hamilton City, Ward No. 5, and her father was a motorman for the railroad.  There were seven children in the family, including a set of 4 year old twins.  The family included her maternal grandfather, and a boarder.

By the 1911 Canada census, the Lucy's family had moved west to Saskatchewan, and were living in Imperial.  The youngest child of the family had evidently died.  Living nearby were three of the Detwiller brothers.

According to family records, Lucy married Robert Hamilton Detwiller on 4 Feb 1914.  He was 29, and she was 21.  In the 1916 Saskatchewan census, they were living on a farm at Wood Creek, Last Mountain, and had a baby daughter, Florence Margaret, born in 1916.  In the 1921 Canada census, there are two more children, namely George William, born in 1917, and Marion Henrietta 1920.  Their last child, Robert Milton, was born in 1930.

According to Source 956, Lucy enjoyed sewing, was active in church work, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  In the 1935, 1938, 1940, and 1945 Canada Voter Lists, Lucy is listed as Mrs. Robert Detwiller in the Lake Centre electoral district.  They moved town in 1950.  In 1957, 1958, 1962, and 1963, she is in the Moose Jaw-Lake Centre electoral district.

Lucy died 5 Mar 1980, about 22 years after Robert.  She is buried with him in the Imperial Cemetery, Imperial, Saskatchewan.
