Notes:  Emma Georgina Detwiller was born 16 Apr 1882 in Westminster Twp., Middlesex, Ontario.  She was the fourth child of James Detwiller and Selina Baker.  Her older brother Charles was born in 1876, and older sisters Minnie Etta in 1878, and Julia Maud in 1881.  Her younger brother John (Will) was born in 1884, and James in 1886.

Shortly after James was born, Emma's family moved west to the Province of Manitoba.  In the 1891 Canada census, they are found living in the Rural Muncipality of Cornwallis.  Her brother Franklin was born about 1888, and sister Eva was born in 1892.  In the 1901 Canada census the family is identified as living in the Glenwood/Hayfield area near Brandon, Manitoba.

Emma married Richard Brandon on 7 Jan 1914 in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis, Manitoba.  In the 1916 Manitoba census, Emma and Richard were living in Brandon City, Manitoba.  They were rooming with W. J. Abbey, a news agent, and his three sons, ages 14, 10, and 3 years.  Emma was a housekeeper, presumably for the household.  Richard was a teamster, and the couple were listed as Presbyterian. Emma died 21 Apr 1922, at the age of 40 years.  Her mother Selina died the same month.  Both are buried in the Brandon Hills Church Cemetery, Cornwallis R.M., Manitoba.
