Martin John Gregory and Gladys Nellie Thomas. She went by the name Ethelyn Pauline Gregory.
Her younger brother, Edwin James Gregory, was born in 1915. Nothing more is found regarding their father.
Their mother Gladys lived in Oakland and Los Angeles, and died in Los Angeles in 1970. In the 1920 U.S. census, Ethelyn Gregory, 6, was living with her maternal grandmother, Nellie Foster, 46, at 1314 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California. Her grandmother was listed as married, the whereabouts of her grandfather unknown. Their home was rented, and the household included Frank Foster, 14, and Charles Foster, 12, sons of Nellie (Ethelyn's uncles); and Edwin Gregory, 4, Ethelyn's brother. In the 1930 U.S. census, Ethelyn Gregory, 17, was living with an uncle, Robert Dietrich, 36, and his wife, Estelle, 38, at 1231 12th St., Oakland, Alameda, California. Also in the household was Gladys Camp, 34, sister of Estelle; Edwin Gregory, 15, Ethelyn's brother; and Henry Turner, 20, a roomer. Her uncle Robert was a cook, their home was rented, and they had a radio set. Ethelyn Gregory graduated from Oakland Technical High School on 12 Dec 1930. On 14 Jul 1934, Ethelyn P. Gregory, 21, married Herold E. Baldwin, 26, in Los Angeles County, California. At the time of their marriage, Ethelyn had been living at 2042 Lafayette place, Culver City, and Herold had been living in the Washington Hotel, in Culver City. In the 1937 Culver City Directory, the couple was living at 4022 Huron avenue. His father, Edward J. Baldwin was living at 3765 Bagley avenue (PO Palms). In the 1940 USA census, Pauline Bldwin, 27, and Herold, 32, were living at 4153 Vinton Avenue, Venice, California. Herold was an assistant camerman for a movie studio, and had earned $3,300. in the prior year. She had obtained four years of high school and he three years of high school. Their home was rented. Her mother, Gladys Gregory, 44, was living in their household. Herold enlisted in the Army Signal Corps on 1 Apr 1942, and was away for three years, returning home in Dec 1945. In the 1950 U.S. census, Evelyn P.Baldwin, 37, and Harold, 42, were living at 10770 Barman Avenue, Culver City, California. He was an assistant camaraman for MGM. The couple did not have any children. Herold Baldwin died 20 Nov 1950 from internal injuries he sustanied when his motorcycle skidded and crashed on Washington Boulevard near Berryman Avenue, Culver City. He was interred in the Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, California. In 1951, Ethelyn became a member of the American Legion Ausiliary Community Unit 46. In 1954, she was registered to vote as a Democrat, living at 10770 Barman avenue, Culver City. Ethelyn married Ray Lampkin on 26 Apr 1957 in San Diego County, California. She was 44 years, and he 60 years. He had been living in Culver City, and working for MGM. Ray Lampkin died in 1979. She next married Robert D. Johnson on 4 May 1981 in Clark County, Nevada. She was a resident of California. Nothing more is known about this marriage. Over the years, Ethelyn P. Johnson had various addresses. These included 3975 Overland Ave. #248, Culver City; 8530 Arrington Ave., Pico Rivera; and 3390 Carmel Dr., Costa Mesa California (1993). Ethelyn P.
