Notes:  George Wallace Kidder II was born 29 Dec 1902 in Oregon City, Clackaman, Oregon.  He was the youngest of nine children born to George Wallace Kidder and his wife Sarah Jennie Moulton.  His father was a farmer.
Notes:  In the 1910 U.S. census, George and his family were living at 1086 Twelth St., Dalles, Wasco, Oregon.  His father was listed as a retired farmer.  Living at home were Ethel, Melba and George III.  In the 1920 U.S. census, George was living with his parents in Tetherow, Deschutes, Oregon.  He was now 17 years and the only child still living at home.

George attended the University of Oregon, receiving his B.A. in 1926.  He was a member of Xigma Xi.  He received his M.A. from the University of California in 1929.  He was the author of Streblomastix, Morphology and Mitosis (University of California Publications in Zoology), 1929.  He received his Ph.D. from Columbia in 1932.  He was a biochemist and protozoologist in his early career, later becoming a biochemistry professsor at Amherst College in Massaschusetts.

In the 1930 U.S. census, George was living in Manhattan, New York.  He was a teacher at New York City College, and shared a room with another teacher, Francis Summers.  He married Ruth Elizabeth Rushworth on 23 Aug 1930 in Jamestown, New York.  They had a son and a daughter, both born while they were living in New York City.  In the 1940 U.S. census, they were living at 278 Dodge Road, Providence, Rhode Island.  George was a college professor.  Their son Rushworth was born in 1944 in Providence.

Ruth and George moved to the Amherst area of Massaschusetts, where they raised their family.  George was a Profesor of Microbiology at Amherst College.  He is listed on an Air Passenger Manifest as arriving in New York, New York from Copenhagen on a Scandinavian Airline flight on 27 Jul 1947.  His address was 576 Main Street, Amherst, Massaschusetts.  He may also have arrived back by air from London in 1953 and 1954, but it is unclear if this George W. Kidder is the correct one.  In 1990, George and Ruth's residence was at 75 Amherst Road, Leverett, Massaschusetts.

George died 17 Mar 1996 in New Hampshire, Hanover, Grafton being his last residence.  Ruth died in 2000.  Their burial place is unknown.
