Notes:  Elverton Crissey Rushworth was born 17 Nov 1910 in Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York.  His parents were O. Nelson Rushworth and Isabella Detwiller.  His three sisters were Ruth Elizabeth, born in 1906, Grace Marion, born in 1908, and Isabelle, born in 1916.  In 1920 N.Y. census, Elverton was living with his family at 12 Lakeview Avenue, Jamestown, New York.  Also living with the family was Elizabeth Wilson, a widowed sister of his mother.  His father was president of the Farmers & Mechanics' Bank.
Elverton was a graduate of Jamestown High School.  He attended Manlius School, and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.  At Cornell he played the clarinet in the band and was a member of Gamma Theta fraternity.  He graduated from the Tri-State University, Indiana.  In the 1930 U.S. census, only Elverton and his sister Isabelle were still living at home.  In the 1934 Jamestown, New York, City Directory, Elverton was listed as a clerk for the Clark Hardware Company, living with his parents.

Elverton married Joan Isbell on 27 Oct 1934 in the rectory of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Buffalo, New York.  In 1936, they were living at 29 Ohio Avenue, Lakewood, New York.  He was a clerk for the Jamestown Mutual Insurance Company.  By 1940 he was the office manager, and they were living at 33 Chautauqua Avenue, Lakewood.  In the 1940 U.S. census, Elverton was making $2,200 a year, the rent was $30 per month and, they had a young housemaid.  Their first son was 4 years old, and daughter was 10 months.  One more son followed.

In the 1944 Jamestown, New York, City Directory, Elverton was listed as the district manager for the Valley Camp Coal Company.  In 1948, Elverton was back as an analyst for the Jamestown Mutual Insurance Company.  The were living at 189 Front, Lakewood.  By 1950, they were living at 23 Ohio Avenue, Lakewood, which became their long time residence.  He was associated with the Field and Wright Company for ten years before his retirement

Elverton was a member and board director of the Chautauqua Lake Yatch Club, and a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

Elverton died 8 Jun 1982 in the W.C.A. Hospital, Jamestown.  The funeral was held 11 Jun 1982 at the Henderson-Lincoln Funeral Home, the Rev. J. Kenneth Soderquist, Lutheran pastor officiating.  He is buried in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
