The 1921 Canada census included Florence's brother George William, born in 1917, sister Marion Henrietta, 1920.  Her brother Robert Milton was born in 1930.

According to her own biography in The Imperial Review [p. 173-174], Florence graduated from Imperial High School in 1933.  She attended Moose Jaw Normal School from 1936 through 1937.  After teaching two years, taking additional courses, and repaying her student loans, she eventually earned her First Class Teacher's Certificate.

Florence married Albert James (Bert) Gordon of Watrous, Saskatchewan, on 15 Jul 1944.  They had no children.  He moved to New York about 1946 to attend NYC.  After nine and one-half years of teaching in Saskatchewan, Florence moved to Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
