Notes: Dorothy Mabel Snider was born in May 1887 in Illinois. Her parents were John H. Snider, born in Tennessee, and Jemina Bauman, born in Pennsylvania. In the 1900 U.S. census, the family was living in Kenesaw, Adams, Nebraska. John H. was a farmer. Jemina had had 12 children, 9 of which were still living. In 1900, the family included Pearl, 15, Dottie [Dorothy], 13, and Elmer, 8 years.

The family is not found in the 1910 U.S. census. In the 1920 U.S. census John and Jemina were living in Hastings, Adams, Nebraska, with two of their older sons, Willard, 57, and Charles, 47 years. In the 1930 U.S. census, still in Hastings, Dorothy was living with her mother Jemina, now 85 years and widowed. Dorothy was 42 years, still single, and an accountant in an office. Living with them was Cathrine Carroll, a housekeeper.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Dorothy was living on Brooklyn Avenue, King, Seattle, renting for $28.00 per month. She was now divorced, and was a bookkeeper for a garage. She had worked 33 weeks in the previous year, earning $1,200. She had completed four years of high school.

Dorothy married William G. Detwiller on 23 Dec 1944. Nothing more is known about the marriage. Dorothy died 31 Mar 1951 in Seattle, Washington. Her burial place is unknown.
