Notes: Doris (Dora) Nelson was born 26 Nov 1911 near Revere, Griggs, North Dakota. She was the third of six children of Nels Marinus Nelson and Dorthea Christine Peterson.

In the 1920 U.S. census, Dora was living with her family in Helena, Griggs, North Dakota. Her father Nels was a general farmer who owned the farm with a mortgage. The children were Cary, 11, Polly, 9, Dora, 8, Robert, 6, Raymond, 3, and Leslie, 2. The oldest four attended school.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Dora was still living with her family in Helena, Griggs, North Dakota. Her father Nels was a farmer, working on his own account. The family was renting their home. The children at home were Dora, 18, Robert, 16, Raymond, 14, and Leslie, 12. All of the children attended school.

Dora graduated from High School in Cooperstown, North Dakota. She married Wallace Irving Pratt on 14 Oct 1935 in Carrington, Foster, North Dakota. In the 1940 U.S. census, they were living on their farm in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. They had two sons, Irving Leroy, born in 1936, and Harlan Duane. Her husband was a farm operator. They had one more child, Roberta Doreen.

In 1958 Dora and Nels moved from their farm into Cooperstown. After moving into Cooperstown, Dora worked at the Stone Cafe and later at the C & D grocery store.

Wallace died 17 Oct 1992, in Mayville, Traill, North Dakota. He is buried in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. In 2005, Dora moved to Fargo, North Dakota, to live with her daughter. In 2007, she moved into Elim Care center.

Dora died 4 Jan 2017 at the age of 105 in Fargo, Cass, North Dakota. She is buried with her husband in the Cooperstown Cemetery.
