Notes:  Andrew William Detwiller was born 3 Sep 1927 in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota.  Known as AndyBill, he was the only child of Harold James Detwiller and Gertrude Evelyn Sansburn.  In the 1930 U.S. census, Andrew was 2½ years, and the family was living in Tyrol Twp., Griggs.  His father was a grain farmer.

Andrew's family moved to Wisconsin in 1936.  In the 1940 U.S. census, Andrew was 12, and the family was living in Downsville, Dunn Town, Dunn, Wisconsin.  His father was farming a Clarence Rudd, 24, a farm laborer lived with the family.

The family moved to Menomonie, Dunn, Wisconsin, where Andrew was an honor student at Menomonie High School.  He developed spinal cancer, and underwent surgery at a Minneapolis hospital.  He returned home, and died 9 Apr 1943.  Funeral services were held at the Menomonie Mortuary and later the Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church.  He is buried in Froens Cemetery, Menomonie, Dunn, Wisconsin.
