Notes: Catherine Eileen Detwiller was born 19 Sep 1926, probably in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. She was the third child of Harry Russel Detwiller and Lillian Ellen Williams. She had an older sister, Mary Evelyn, born in 1921, and an older brother William Henry, 1924. Her younger brother Patrick Roger was born in 1929. In the 1930 U.S. census, her father was farming on the original Detwiller family farm, 7 miles north of Cooperstown in Tyrol Twp., Griggs County. The entire family was still together in the 1940 U.S. census. By that census, Catherine had completed 7th grade.

Catherine married Marvin C. Walen on 3 Jun 1946. The couple had three children. Marvin died of cancer on 1 Oct 1957 in Griggs County, North Dakota. She then married Joseph F. Zimprich Jr., on 2 Jul 1958. He was a widower with one son. He adopted her three children, and together they had another three children.

Catherine's husband Joseph was a farmer, and their farm was located near Aneta, Griggs, North Dakota. Catherine was active in all aspects of farming while raising their seven children. At the age of 60, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, and worked at the Aneta Parkview Health Center until she was 80. She and her husband were members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta. In 1992, their address was 1490 117th Ave NE, Arneta, North Dakota.

Joseph died 5 Oct 2004, and in 2009 Catherine left the farm and moved to Fargo, Cass, North Dakota. She died 29 Apr 2011 in Fargo. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 3 May 2011 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Aneta. She is buried with her husband in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Aneta, North Dakota.
