Notes: Neva Marion LaPlant was born 9 Feb 1896 in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. She was the second child of William LaPlant and Mary Rose Haley. Her brother Louis was born in Dec 1893 in Kansas, and the family had moved to North Dakota in the fall of 1895.

In the 1900 U.S. census, Neva was living with her parents in Romness Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. The family now had two more children, Ethel, born in May 1898, and William (Bruce), Jun 1900. Also living with the family was her maternal aunt, Nettie Haley, and her paternal uncle, George LaPlant. Her father William was a farmer, and her uncle George a farm laborer.

About 1905, the family moved to Tyrol Twp., Griggs, where they were enumerated in the 1910 U.S. census. Her father William was a grain farmer, farming the W½ of Sec. 15, Tyrol Twp., Griggs. Her brother Louis was working as a farmer on the family farm.

Neva married Lars Alfred Anderson on 1 Jan 1915 in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. Their first residence was in Binford, Griggs, North Dakota. By the 1920 U.S. census, Neva and Lars were living on their lifelong farm in Pilot Mound Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. Their son Raymond was 9 months, having been born in Dec 1919. The 1925 North Dakota State census listed Lars A., Neva, Raymond, and their second son, Oliver, born in Nov 1922.

In the 1930 U.S. census, a daughter, Loretta, had been added to the family. Their last child, Carol, was born in May 1930. Neva also had four children who died in infancy.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Neva had completed two years of high school, as had her husband. Raymond and Oliver, had both completed the eighth grade, and were working on the farm. Loretta, had completed the eighth grade, and Carol the third grade.

Lars died 2 Jul 1970 in Fargo, Cass, North Dakota. Neva died 13 Mar 1988 in Fargo. During the last twenty years of her life she was cared for by her daughter Carol. It is unknown where she is buried, although it is presumed to be with her husband in the West Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Binford, Griggs, North Dakota.
