Notes:  Alva Edgar Bremerman was born 21 Oct 1900 in Minneapolis, Ottawa, Kansas.  He was the second son of Edgar Cass Bremerman and Emily Jane Gawith.  In the 1905 Kansas State census, his family was living in Blaine Twp., Ottawa, Kansas.  He had an older brother Harold Jay. His younger siblings were Floyd Gawith, and Agnes Ellen.  Living with family was his maternal grandmother, Agnes Gawith.  His father Edgar was a farmer.
In the 1910 U.S. census, the family now included his brother James Henry, and sister Avis Elzina.  His grandmother Agnes Gawith was still living with the family.  In the 1915 Kansas State census, Alva's last brother, Judson Robert, was included.  His grandmother was no longer listed.  The family was all together in the 1920 U.S. census.

According to family sources, Alva married Thelma Pauline Zuker on 16 Apr 1924 in Minneapolis, Ottawa, Kansas.  In the 1925 Kansas census, they were living in Logan Twp., Ottawa, Kansas.  Alva was a farmer.  By the 1930 U.S. census, Alva and Thelma had a son, Edgar J. Bremerman.  Sometime before 1935, they moved to Blaine Twp., where Alva continued to farm.  They are found here in the 1940 U.S. census.

Alva had four years of high school.  He was a pall bearer at the funeral of Mary Detwiller Davis in 1931.  His wife Thelma died 4 Oct 1965.  Alva died 3 Jul 1982, his last residence being Minneapolis, Ottawa, Kansas.  They are both buried in the Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Kansas.
