Notes:  Gordon Harvey Detwiller was born 18 Mar 1904, in the R.M. of Glenwood*, Manitoba.  He was the oldest child, and only son, of Charles Detwiller and Martha May Brown.  His sister Margaray was born in Oct 1905.

In the 1906 Manitoba census, the family was living in the Hayfield P.O. area of Manitoba.  His father Charles was farming next door to his father, John Detwiller.  The family had 10 horses, 8 milk cows, 10 other cattle, and 15 pigs.  A male servant was also living in the household.  Gordon's sister Margaret was born in March 1907, and sister Florence in July 1909.  The family moved to Saskatchewan prior to the 1911 census.

In the 1911 Canada census, the family was living in the Assiniboia District of Saskatchewan.  His father Charles was farming.  His sister Marion was born about 1911 and sister Dorothy was born about 1914.  The family is found here in the 1916 Saskatchewan census and the 1921 Canada census.  In the 1921 census, Gordon, 17, is listed as farming on his father's farm.

On 9 May 1939, Gordon crossed the Canadian border at Eastport, Idaho in transit for two days to visit his Uncle James Detwiller living at 2567 Dow Road, Burnaby, B.C.  Gordon was described as 33 years, 5ft. 7in., medium complexion, brown hair, and gray eyes.  He was a farmer, permanent residence being Watson, Saskatchewan.  His nearest relative was his father Charles Detwiller, also of Watson.

In 1949, a Gordon Detwiller, mechanic, is registered to vote in Leroy Village, Humbolt, Saskatchewan.  In 1972, a Gordon Detwiller, retired, is registered to vote, living at 1014 Tiffin Crescent, Saskatoon-Biggar, Saskatchewan.

Public Member Trees found at Ancestry.com report Gordon Harvey Detwiller died 4 Apr 1990.  His death and burial place is unknown.

*There are two birth index records for Gordon Harvey Detwiller.  One lists Brandon as the birth place, and the second lists the R.M. of Glenwood.
