Notes:  Bertha Irene Strome was born 7 Jun 1909 in Greenside, ST. Peter R.M., Humbolt, Saskatchewa, Canada.  She was the fourth child of Astor Sands Strome and Julia Maud Detwiller.  Her older sister Myrtle was born in 1900, her older brother Wilford in 1902, and older brother Harvey in 1904, all in Manitoba, Canada.  The family moved to Saskatchewan, where they homesteaded on Sec. 32, Twp. 37, Range 19 W2, on the road to Englefeld.  Her younger sister Eva was born in 1911.

In the 1911 Canada census, Humbolt Twp., Saskatchewan, the family is enumerated on their homestead.  Bertha's brother Nelson (Bud) was born in 1913, and brother Frank in 1915.  In the 1916 Saskatchewan census, Humbolt Twp., their farm (same) is identified as being in St. Peters Municipality.  Bertha's sister Minnie was born in 1917.  By the 1921 Canada census, her brother Harvey had left home.  Bertha's sister Dorothy was born in 1921, and brother James in 1926.

According to A History of Englefeld, 1903 - 1987, the family homestead was located at Greenside, and the children attended the Greenside School.

Bertha married Henry Beiker, Jr., of Englefeld in 1929.  Her father gave the couple a milk cow as a dowry.  They began their family of eight children in 1930.  In 1949 they are listed in the Canada Voters Lists in Englefeld, Humbolt.  Leaving the farming to their sons, Henry began to build, buy and sell homes.  In 1953, they were living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  In 1957 they moved to Surrey, British Columbia.

It is unknown when either Bertha or Henry died, and their burial place is unknown.
