Notes:  Helen Kathryn Valeth was born 30 Apr 1902 in Bloomfield, Walworth, Wisconsin.  She was the only child of John Valeth and Anna Wienan.  In the 1910 U.S. census, Helen, 7, was living with her parents at 2331 North 62nd Street, Seattle Ward 11, King, Washington, and was attending school.  Her father was a laborer for the city. 

In the 1920 U.S. census, Helen, 17, and her parents were enumerated at the same address.  Her father was a truck driver for the city water department, and Helen was attending school.

Helen married Wallace C. Crait on 10 Feb 1923 in the Methodist parsonage, Seattle, Washington.  Their daughter Shirley Clair Crait was born 29 Jan 1924 in Seattle, King, Washington.  In 1929 they are listed in the Port Angeles, Washington, City Directory living at 5422 S. Cherry, Port Angeles, Washington.  Her husband was a log scaler.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Helen and her family were living in Forks, Clallam, Washington.  Her husband Wallace was a logging inspector at a logging camp.  From 1932 through 1938, the Port Angeles, Washington, City Directory lists the family living at 217 W. 5th Street and 425 E. 5th Street, Port Angeles.  Her husband was a millworker for the Olympic Forest Prod. Co, and in 1938 an acct for R.Inc.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Helen and her family were living on South Kay in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington.  The family was renting their home for $40. per month, and Helen had completed four years of high school.  Her husband was a personal supervisor at a pulp mill.

Helen's husband Wallace died in Sep 1943 in Washington.  Their daughter Shirley married Martell Clark Stoney in 1944.  She died in 1977, he in 1991.  Helen lived to be 101, and died 20 May 2003 in Seattle, King, Washington.  Their burial places are unknown.
