Notes:  Garn Arthur Brown was born 14 Dec 1920 in Scipio, Mildred, Utah.  He was the fourth child of Erwin Martin Brown and Ada Johnson.  His older siblings were Bevan Erwin, born in 1913, Merwin Jorgen, born in 1915, and Chloe Anne, born in 1919.  His younger sister was Coral Elaine, born in 1925.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Garn's family was living in Scipio, Millard, Utah.  The family had their own farm, and had a radio set.  His father Erwin was a general merchant.  The children were Bevan, 17, Mervin, 14, Chloe, 10, Garn, 8, and Coral, 5.  Except for Coral, all of the children attended school.

In mid 1935, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.  His mother Ada Johnson Brown died shortly thereafter.  Their home was at 918 Princeton Ave.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Garn's family was living at 251 W. Center Street, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.  His father Erwin was an auditor for the liquor commission.  Garn had a stepmother, Amada Brown, who had been born in California.  The children at home were Choloe, 20; Garn, 19, with one year of college; a stepbrother Robert Barton, 17, service station attendant with four years of high school; and Coral, 15, 9th grade.

Garn attended the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah.  He graduated with the class of 1943.  His junior and senior photographs appear in the 1942 and 1943 yearbooks, Buzzer.  A photograph of his future wife Lemira Bishop, as a sophomore, appears in the 1942 yearbook.

Garn Arthur Brown married Lemira Bishop on 3 May 1947 in Salt Lake, Utah.  They made their home in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, where they raised six children.  Their address in 1951 and 1952 was 987 Windsor.

Garn worked for thirty years as an Excise Tax Agent for the Internal Revenue Service.  He was one of the founders of the Treasury Credit Union, and a member of the LDS Church.

Garn Arthur Brown died 8 Apr 1991 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.  Funeral services were held 12 Apr 1991 at the Salt Lake 31st Ward.  He was buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah.
