Notes:  Ella Joan Brown was born 24 Mar 1930 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino, California.  She was the fourth child of Webb King Brown and Iris Idell Bresslin.  Her father was a machinist for the Santa Fe Railway.  Her older siblings were Aileen Iris, born Apr 1926 in Utah; Betty LaVonne, born in July 1927 in California; and Donald Webb, born in Feb 1929 in California.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Ella J. was just 13 days old.  Her family was living at 1581 Mt. Vernon Ave., San Bernardino, San Bernardino, California.  They owned their home valued at $2,500, and did not have a radio set.   Her father Webb was a machinist for the railroad shops.  The children were I. Aileen, 3, Betty L., 2, Donald W., 1, and Ella I., 13 days.  Also in the household was her paternal aunt, F. Virginia Brown, 20.  Her younger siblings were William Alan, born Aug 1931; Virginia Norene, born in Jan 1934; and Kay Idell, born in Jul 1937.

In the 1940 U.S. census, the family was still living at 1581 Mt. Vernon Ave., San Bernardino, San Bernardino, California.  They owned their home with a value of $3,000.  Her father Webb was a machinist for the railroad, and had earned $1880 in the prior year.  The children were Aileen, 14, one year of high school; Betty, 12, 7th grade; Donald, 11, 5th grade; Joan, 10, fifth grade; Billy, 8, third grade; Virginia, 6, first grade; and Kay, 2.

On 9 Jun 1950, Ella Joanne Brown, 20, married Reed Murdoch Stewart, 22, in the St. George LDS Temple in St. George, Washington, Utah.  They were honored at a reception the following evening in San Bernardino, California.  They had a family of seven children, and made their first home in Hinckley, Millard, Utah.

On 9 Feb 1965, their home in Hinckley burned to the ground.  At the time they were living in Magna.  Their address for many years was 3184 Jean St., Magna, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City.  They also resided in Salt Lake City.

On 11 Jul 2013, Ella Joanne Brown Stewart died at her home in Magna, Salt Lake, Utah.  Funeral services were held 20 Jul 2013 at the Spencer 6th Ward, Magna, Utah.  She was buried in the Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, Salt Lake, Utah.
