Notes:  James Jacobus and Harriet Baldwin were married in 1866 or 1867.  James was a cigar manufacturer.  Their first daughter, Ida Louise, was born in February 1870.  In the 1870 census, James, Harriet and Ida were living in Caldwell, Caldwell Township, Essex, New Jersey.  They were listed first in the census, but they were living in the same household as her parents, George and Deborah Baldwin, and her brother and his wife, Daniel and Evelena.  Ella May was born in August 1875.  In 1880, the family was living by themselves, in Caldwell.

Ida died in July 1896.  In 1900, James and Harriet were living in Caldwell, with their daughter, Ella.  Harriet's father, George Baldwin, was also living with them.  George died in 1906.  By 1910, they were living alone on Westville Avenue, West Caldwell, in their own home with a mortgage.

Harriet died in 1916.  In 1920, James was living with his daughter Ella, and her husband, George L. Francis, in Delhi Village, Delhi Township, Delaware, New York.  Ella and George had three children, Ida, Gladys, and George.  James died in February 1923, presumably in New York.  Both James and Harriet are buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey, with their daughter Ida.  Many years later, in 1959, their daughter Ella, was buried with them.
