Notes: Ella May Jacobus was born 16 Aug 1875 to James W. Jacobus and Elisabeth Baldwin Jacobus, probably in Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey. In the 1880 U.S. census, she was living with her parents and older sister Ida Louise in Caldwell. Ida died in 1896. In the 1900 U.S. census, Ella was living with her parents and grandfather, George Baldwin, still in Caldwell.

Ella married George L. Francis about 1903. By the 1910 U.S. census, she and George had three children, Ida L., age 4, Gladys M., 2, and George E., 4 months. The family was living in New Haven Ward 4, New Haven, Connecticut. In the 1920 U.S. census, the family was living in Delhi Village of the Delhi Twp. of Delaware, New York. Living with the family was her father, James W. Jacobus George died 12 Sep 1929.

By the 1930 U.S. census, Ella was living in Somerville, Somerset, New Jersey with her three children, now grown. Her two daughters were public school teachers, and her son was a bookeeper for an insurance company.

Ella died 15 Feb 1959, and is buried with her parents and sister in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey.
