Notes: John Henry Graf and Barbara Staheli were married 15 Oct 1884* in Santa Clara, Washington,
Utah. Marius Ensign presided. They had four children, all born in Santa
Clara. These included George Albert, born 11 Aug 1884, John Henry born 4 Oct 1886,
Barbara Wilhelmina born 9 Dec 1888, and Sophia Amanda born 22 Oct 1890.
John Henry died 2 Jan 1891, leaving Barbara to care for the young children.
They are listed with her in the 1900 USA census.
John Henry was buried in the Santa Clara City Cemetery,
Santa Clara, Utah. Barbara married a second time to John Stucki, and was again
left a widow. She took back her married name Graf, and shares a headstone with
her first husband, John Henry Graf.
*Family sources give 15 Oct 1884 as the marriage date for Barbara and John Henry Graf.
The Index to Early Washington County Marriages, Source No. 722
gives 15 May 1884. The IGI, Source No. 255 gives
14 Aug 1890, in Saint George, which is probably a Sealing date in the temple. |
