| Notes: Frank Hilton maried Mathilda (Sophie) Hildebrand on 19 Oct 1908, probably in Alhambra,
California. In the 1910 USA census, they were living with his
mother Sarah at 108 North Second Street, Alhambra. The 1915-1916 directory of
Alhambra gave Frank and Mathilda's address as 108 Stoneman Avenue, which was actually
the address of the Alhambra Fire Station, where Frank was the Fire Chief. In the
1920, USA census, they were still living with his mother, but now Frank was listed
as head of the household. He listed his occupation as salesman for the water
works. The couple had no children. |
| In the 1930 USA census, Frank and Mathilda were living at 301 North
Stoneman, Alhambra. They owned their home, which was worth $9,000, and Frank was
manager of the water works.; In the 1940 USA census, the house was valued at
$2,000.00. Frank died 15 Jun 1948 in Los Angeles County.
Mathilda continued to live in their Stoneman Avenue residence, as seen in the 1954,
1956, and 1964 Alhambra directories. Mathilda died in San Diego County on
28 Feb 1970. Both Matilda and Frank are buried in the San Gabriel Cemetery,
San Gabriel, California. |
