Notes:  Gilbert Roe Caldwell, 21, and Melba Jean Stewart, 20, both residents of Cedar City, Iron, Utah, were married 22 Mar 1946 in Parowan, Iron, Utah.  They had a family of three children.
Gilbert attended the Utah State Agricultural School.  In Dec 1948, he was advanced to the rank of cadet 1st lieutenant in the college Reserve Officer Training Corps. By 1952, Gilbert and Jean were living in the Long Beach area of Southern California.  Gilbert was a tool designer for Douglas Aircraft.  Their addresses included 2118 Robinson, Redondo Beach (1952); 18703 Billings, Gardena Valley (1954); and 3118 Lees Ave., Long Beach (1957).  In 1969, Gilbert was working as a city planner and Jean was working for North American as a statistician, still at the Lees address.   This was a residence built in 1954 with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths in 1,415 sq. ft. By 1981, Gilbert and Jean, presumably retired, were living in Lake Arrowhead, San Bernardino, California. Gilbert, 78, died 5 May 2003, his last residence being Lake Arrowhead.  Funeral services were held 9 May 2003 at the Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary in Fontana, California, the Fr. Robert Walsh, S.J., President of Loyola High School, Los Angeles, presiding.  He was buried with full military honors in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside, California. Jean Stewart Caldwell, 91, died 25 Dec 2106.  She was buried 30 Dec 2016 with her husband in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside, California.
