The funeral was Nov. 30 for Rachel Pratt of Eugene, who died Nov. 26 of age-related causes. The former Springfield resident was 79. Pratt was born May 31, 1921, in Hannaford, N.D., to Peter and Anna Stromme Aalgaard. She married Lawrence Pratt in Hannaford on Sept. 29, 1940. He died in 1986. She graduated from Hannaford High School in 1940. She worked at Griggs County Hospital in Cooperstown, N.D., and the Sea Sprite Motel in Cannon Beach. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, flower gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Taxdal of Springfield and Diane Honey of Duluth, Minn.; two sons, Larry of Anchorage, Alaska, and Joel of Beaverton; six brothers Leif, Selmer and Robert Aalgaard of Sacraments, Calif., Leonard Aalgaard of Hannaford and Albert Aalgaard of Eureka, Calif.; a sister, Stella Larsen of Eugene; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene was in charge of the arrangements. | ||||
