Notes: Rachel Lucille Aalgaard was born 31 May 1921 in Hannaford, Greenfield Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. Her parents were Peter Erling Aalgaard and Anna Kristina Stromme. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was living on a farm in Greenfield Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. Her father Peter was a farmer. Rachel was 8 years, and her siblings included Rosi, 19, Erling, 17, working on the farm, Pete, 16, working on the farm, Margaret, 13, Leonard, 12, Stella, 6, Selmar, 4, and Robert, 2 years. Her grandfather, Einar O. Stromme, was living with the family.

By the 1940 U.S. census, Rachel's family moved into the Village of Hannaford. Her father Peter was working on a gravel project for the W.P.A. Rachel was 18, and had three years of high school. Her siblings still at home included Stella, 16, Selmer, 14, Robert, 12, and the youngest, Alfred, 6 years.

Rachel graduated from Hannaford High School in 1940, and married Lawrence Everett Pratt on 29 Sep 1940 in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. Rachel worked at Griggs County Hospital in Cooperstown, and later at the Sea Sprite Motel in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The couple had four children.

At some point in time, Rachel and Lawrence made their home in Springfield, Oregon. Lawrence died in 1986 in Springfield, Lane, Oregon. Phyllis died 30 Nov 2000 in Eugene, Lane, Oregon. Both are buried in the Westlawn Memorial Park, Eugene, Lane, Oregon.
