|Notes: Lenore Helen Detwiller* was born 4 Aug 1918 in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota.
She was the only child of Fredrick Detwiller and Martha Jane Armstrong. In
the 1920 U.S. census, the family was living in Tyrol Twp., 7 miles north of
Cooperstown. Living with them was her uncle, Harry Russell Detwiller.|
In the 1925 North Dakota census, Lenore was listed by her middle name, Helen. The family was living in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was back in Tyrol Twp. Lenore, 11, was again listed by her middle name Helen. Her father Fred died 1 Mar 1938.
Lenore married William Michael Paintner on 29 Jun 1938, in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jesse, Griggs, North Dakota. In the 1940 U.S. census, Lenore and William were living in Ball Hills Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. William, 30, was a farmer, and had an eighth grade education. Lenore, 21, had had four years of high school. Their daughter Barbara was 1/2 years old. The couple had four more children, all sons.
In 1989 and 1993, they were living on a rural route with a Hannaford, Griggs, post office address. Google puts this address in Ball Hills Twp., probably their life-long farm.
William died 13 Aug 2007. Lenore died 30 May 2010 in Cass County, North Dakota. For Social Security purposes, their last residence was in Carrington, Foster, North Dakota. Her obituary was published in the Fargo Forum on 3 Jun 12010. Both are buried in the St. George Cemetery, Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota.
