          "DELTA - George W. Pate, 65, died Thursday night after a month's illness of heart trouble and complications.
          Mr. Pate was born in Morgan county, Illinois, September 19, 1867.  He came to Delta from Oasis in 1928.
          Surviving besides his widow are four daughters and one son:  Bud, Lois, Jewel and Iola Workman, Delta, and Mrs. Jennie Armstrong, Los Angeles."

          George W. Pate, one of the pioneer farmers of the Pahvant Valley, died at his home here last Friday after a brief illness.  Mr. Pate came from Colorado to the Deseret community some twenty years ago and since that time was prominently identified with the develoment of West Millard.  He was a good man and a good citizen and his death is a distinct loss to the community.  Funeral services were held from the Second Ward Church Sunday afternoon and the interment was in the Delta cemetery.  He is survived by his widow, one son and three daughters."

          John Lyman, 240 E. 500 N., Orem, was arraigned in Provo City Court on a charge of forgery.
          Lyman, also known as John Lyman Cox, allegedly attempted to defraud Zions First National Bank, cashing a check with the signature of Bud W. Pate.
      A preliminary hearing date was set for April 12 at 2 p.m., and bail was set at $2000 cash or $4000 property."
