55th Anniversary Observed
      A 55th wedding anniversary was the occasion for the recent get-together of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Alma Peterson of Price.  The event was held in Scofield, Carbon County at the LDS chapel, with family members visiting later at the Peterson cabin near Scofield Reservoir.
      The Petersons were married Aug. 30, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  They both were born in Provo.  Mr. Peterson was born to Neils Alma and Annie Walker Peterson and Mrs. Peterson is the daughter of George and Emma Dunn Startup.  Their wedding reception was held in the Provo Sixth Ward.
      The Petersons have for many years conducted a family business, originally known as the Peterson Candy Company located in Price, but extending into Carbon, Emery, Duchesne and Uintah Counties.
      The family business has employed three sons at different times.  They are Dick Peterson, Price, Jim Peterson, Provo, and Ted, now deceased.  Their daughter is Mrs. John L. (Rosa Lee) Bell, Orangeville.
      Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have been active in the LDS Church where Mr. Peterson has served in the Sixth Ward Bishopric in Price.  He is presently active in Senior Citizens in Carbon County, as well as serving on the State Coalition and on the Utah State Board of Aging.
      There were 45 family members and friends in attendance at the event.
