Notes:  Walter Gregory MacCluer Noble was born 21 Jun 1944 in Los Angeles County, California.  His parents were William Curtis Noble and Jean Elizabeth MacCluer.  His grandfather and great-grandfather were both named Walter, and MacCluer was the maiden name of his mother.  He went by the nickname Greg.
Walter Gregory MacCluer Noble was baptized by his maternal grandfather, Dr. D. W. M. MacCluer, on 28 April 1946 in the First Presbyterian Church (N. Hollywood).  His grandfather was the pastor of the Rose City Park Presbyterian Church of Portland, Oregon.

In the 1950 U.S. census, Gregory W. Noble, 5, was living with his parents, Wm. C. Noble, 39, and Jean, 38, at 4758 Norwich, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California.  His father was the Vice Principal of Van Nuys High School.  His older sister Linda was 7, and younger sister Penelope was 2.

Greg attended Van Nuys Junior High School, and is pictured in the A9 Class picture in 1959.  He attended Van Nuys High School and in 1960 is pictured with the Future Farmers of America (FAA), and in 1961 with the Boy's Activity Board and Junior Varsity Basketball.  In 1961 he received an achievement award in a Los Angeles area FAA contest.

In 1963, Walter G. Noble was a student living at 335 Laurel Dr., Eureka, Humbolt County, California.  On 4 July 1965 Walter G. Noble, 21, married Carol L. Smith, 20, in Humbolt County, California.  They had a family of three children.

In 1968, Greg Noble participated in a community play seen by Humbolt and Del Norte County school children, entitled Little Squire Gullible and the Dragon.  He played the part of Chief Chicken Cook.

Greg and Carol moved to Oregon, and public records show them living on Chehelem Drive, Newberg Oregon.  Pursuing a life-long dream, Greg with the help of Carol designed and built a passive solar home at 71414 Whiskey Creek Road in Wallowa, Oregon.

Walter Gregory MacCluer Noble passed away on 3 Jan 2024 in the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon after a long battle with cancer.  Memorial gatherings were held 20 January 2024 in McMinnville, and 23 March 2024 in the their home in Wallowa, Oregon.  His obituary shared the varied skills and passions he enjoyed during his litetime.
