Phebe Stuart of 2 Dec 1852 in Clinton Twp., Essex, New Jersey.
Before that, in the 1850 U.S. census, Wheelock Corey, 23, was living with his "wife", Phebe, 18
in the North Ward of Newark, Essex, New Jersey. Wheelock was a carman. Listed with his
family were Polly Harrison, 82, Mary Lundy, 34, and William Lundy, 1. They were sharing
the house with his parents, Samuel Corey, 50, and Sarah, 48, and his siblings, David, 18, and
Lydia, 16. His father and brother were also carmen.
In the 1860 U.S. census, Wheelock Corey, 33, and his wife Phebe, 27, were living in Newark Ward 8,
Essex, New Jersey. Their children were Sarah E., 9, Anna, 6, and Samuel W., 1.
Also living with the family was his sister Lydia Corey, 24, and brother David Corey, 27.
Wheelock was a teamster, and David drove a coal wagon.
Wheelock and Phoebe Corey are not found in the 1870 U.S. census, and their death dates are unknown.
