Notes: James and his family may have lived here before he purchased this Lot No. 5.
In Feb 1916 James bought this Lot No. 5 and its 76.87 acres for $3,000. At
that time a mortgage of $2,500 was recorded on this Lot with James Hancock and
wife as Grantor.
In Nov 1916 James died after living on his own land for only 10 months and 11 days.
His daughter Irene, then 14¼ years old, probably resided here with James'
second wife Mary.
In Sep 1923 James' wife Mary, as administrator of his estate, sold a part of this Lot
to James' daughter Irene. One year later Irene sold the part back to Mary.
In May 1925 James' wife Mary apparently sold the remainer of the Lot for $3,000.00.
