Notes:  Henry Jules Lacaze was born 5 Sep 1908 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana.  He was the second of four children born to Jean Marie Lacaze and Mathilda Larré Both of his parents had been born in France.

In the 1910 U.S. census, Henry, 2, was living with his parents, Jean M., 28, and Mathilda, 30, on St. Claude Street, Police Jury Ward 1, Saint Bernard, Louisiana.  His father was a dairy man on a dairy farm.  He had an older sister, Marie, 3.  Emile Augesot, 25, and Morris McKenner, 44, both dairymen, were living with them.

Henry moved from New Orleans to Napa with his family in 1916 and attended the old Franklin School, Central School, and the Intermediate School on Jefferson Street.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Henry, 11, was living with his parents, John, 36, and Mathilda , 40, at 235 Grant, Napa.  His father was working in a laundry, and the home was rented.  His siblings were Marie, 13, Octave, 8, and Robert J., 11 months.

Henry's first employment was with the old Modern Dairy.  In the 1930 U.S. census, Henry, 22, was a driver for the Napa Special Delivery.  He was living with his parents, Jean 48, and Mathilda, 50, at 1011 Pine, Napa.  His father was still working in a laundry.  His brother Octave, 19, was an ironer in a shirt factory, and brother Robert was 11.

Henry bought and remodeled a house at 519 Madison Street, Napa.  He married Bee Ella Hancock on 30 Sep 1934 in Carson City, Nevada.  They immediately drove north as far as Canada on their honeymoon, returning to what was to be their lifelong home on Madison.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Henry, 31, and Bee, 26, were living in their Madison Street home.  Henry was a truck driver for the Napa Special Delivery office, and they owned their home, valued at $3,000.  Their children were Jeanette, 4, and Andrea, 1.  Henry Julien Lacaze, 32, registered for the World War II draft on 5 Sep 1908.  He was described as 5'6", 165 lbs., with light complexion, brown hair and blue eyes.  Of interest was that Napa Transportation Company's place of business was Pier 5, San Francisco.

In the 1950 U.S. census, Henry J., 42, and Bee E., 36, were still in their Madison Street home.  Henry was now the proprietor of the trucking company.  He reported $8,800. of income.  Their children were Jeanette M., 14, Andrea G., 11, and Ralph J., 5.

Henry and Bee also had the Lacaze Trucking Company, which hauled hides and tanning supplies for local tanneries.  Bee was the bookkeeper and secretary for their Napa Special Delivery and the Lacaze Trucking businesses until they sold them and retired in 1962.

Henry and Bee were very active in the Napa Buzzsteppers Square Dance Club.  Henry was a trustee for the club. They danced all over Northern California and were invited to Canada to dance at the Calgary Stampede.  After their retirement, they purchased a travel trailer and traveled throughout the United States.  They were members of the Silverado Trailer Club and loved to travel, fish, and dance.  Henry also enjoyed investing in the stock market and collecting high-denomination old U.S. coins — such as Morgan silver dollars.

Henry died 31 Mar 1972 at the age of 63.  Services were held 3 Apr 1972 at the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel, Napa.  He is buried in the Tulocay Mausoleum, Napa.
