Notes:  Following the death of his father in 1828, Matthew inherited 57 acres and 23 perches of land in West Deer Township (later named Richland Township), Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  The exact division of his father's land was agreed to on 13 Dec 1848 with his brothers David, Joseph, William, and John (Source 187).  See Source 191 for an 1851 map that shows the land's location. The photo below is probably of Matthew circa 1860 (see Note). He later settled in Butler County, Pennsylvania, in 1865 (Source 691). Matthew died after 1 Jun 1900 and prior to 22 Apr 1910.
