Notes:  *Name conflict!  Stanley's registered name at his birth was Abram Stanley Hodgson; however, no evidence has been found that the 5-letter-long name Abram was ever used.  Some genealogists have reported Stanley's first name to be Abraham; however, I have found no evidence that that 7-letter-long name was in fact ever used by Stanley or his family.  Instead, a Forest Standard newspaper article, his marriage registration, family photographs, and the 1891, 1901, and 1906 censuses all consistently identify his first name as Stanley; therefore, that is the first name I will use for him. Stanley spent his early years on his parents' farm in Bosanquet, Ontario. The photograph at the left was taken in about 1895.  The photo below was taken in about 1900. In 1905 Stanley and Mrs. Hodgson were living in Detroit. In 1906 Stanley and his wife Helena were living in Saskatchewan, probably in the town of St. Walberg, where Stanley worked as a dentist. In 1935, when his mother Caroline died, Stanley was living in St. Walberg, Saskatchewan.
