Notes:  *Name conflict!  Reg's registered birthname Jacob Reginal — with no d in Reginal.  However, I found no evidence than Jacob was ever used as his first name.  His parents recorded him solely as Reginald in the 1891, 1901, and 1916 censuses — and he himself declared and signed his name as Reginald Jacob Hodgson on his official military Attestation Paper.

**Birth year conflict!  Reg's registered birth year was 1885; however, he declared his birth year to be 1887 in his official military Attestation Paper.

Reg spent his early years on his parents' farm in Bosanquet, Ontario.
King George V
In early 1916 Reg was single and living in his mother Caroline's household in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, with his brother Art.  On 14 Sep 1916 Reg enlisted in the Army, 77th battery of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) in WWI.  He was 5' 11½" tall and had a medium complexion, brown eyes, and dark brown hair.  As with all recruits, Reg swore allegiance to His Majesty King George the Fifth.

Reg was wounded and discharged from the CEF on 21 Dec 1918.

On 25 Jun 1935, Reg rapped on his mother Caroline's bedroom door at her home in Swift Current.  Receiving no response, he entered her room and found her dead in bed.

Reg passed on in 1968 and was buried at Mount Pleasant Burial Park's Block 28 - 12 - 22.
