Karen graduated from Turlock High School Class of 2960, Modesto Junior Collece, and received her B.A. and teaching credential from Fresno State. Karen loved her profession.  She taught physical education at La Loma Jr. High and Grace Davis High School, both in the Modesto School District.  She was a lifeguard and gave swimming lessons at the Columbia Pool during the 1950s.
