When David married in 1904 he was about 34 years old and is wife Mamie was 23.

David worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, California, from before 1910 until he was in his 60s.  He participated in the building of the Panama Canal as a member of a team sent from Mare Island to the Canal Zone.  David was one of 9 team members who returned from Ancon, Canal Zone, to San Francisco on 29 Dec 1909.  He returned on 8 Oct 1918 from Corinto, Nicaragua, after another trip there.

David resided with his wife Mamie at 311 Capitol Street in Vallejo from before 1919 until the 1940s.

David passed on in 1942 at the age of 72.
