Notes: Jerry and Alice probably met and married in Butte County, California.
Their first child, Geraldine, was born there in May 1917.
Three months later, the Phelps family was living in Maui in the
Hawaii Territory, as Jerry worked for the Kahului Railroad Company there.
The photo at the right shows Alice and Geraldine in 1921, probably at their
rental home at Lahaina, Maui.
The family returned to Butte County, where their second child, Robert, was
born in July 1925. By 1930 the family had moved to Oakland, California.
Later they lived in Santa Cruz County. The photo at the left shows
Jerry and Alice with Myrtle Glos on 15 Jun 1947 in El Granada.
Jerry died in 1975 in Santa Cruz County. |
