Notes: James was age 28 and a widower with a young daughter, Sarah, when he married
Mary, who was age 27.
In Feb 1916 James bought Lot 5 in the 6th Concession in the Township of Sarnia,
consisting of 76.87 acres, for $3,000. At that time a mortgage of $2,500
was recorded on that Lot with James Hancock and wife as Grantor.
In Nov 1916 James passed on unexpectedly two weeks short of his 41st birthday. |
