SAMUELS/WHITE/GREGORY.  Hello, I am looking for some distant ancestors who orginate from St. Clair County, Alabama.  I would appreciate any assistance or possible leads.  Here is a brief genealogical history:  My ancestor, Elizabeth White (b. late 1700's?) married to an Elisha Samuels (b. abt. 1790) in that same county on October 16, 1822.  Their children are as follows: Edwin (b. abt. 1823); George; and seven unknown siblings.  Edwin married a Mary M. Gregory, also of Alabama.  (Family lore states that Edwin stabbed a man and had to flee the area.  He came home one night and led his family on covered wagon to California in the early 1850's, where we still are.)  I hope that there may be a connection here.
