Arthur A. Lawyer, 38, and Ida E., 32, were living here with their first son, Lewis O., 2.
Arthur was a realator, working on his own account, and their home was mortgaged.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Arthur A. Lawyer, 47, and Ida E., 42, now had three children:
Lewis O., 12, Mary Elizabeth, 7, and Richard E., 4. Arthur was a bookkeeper for the lumber company.
They now owned their home free of mortgage.
The Alhambra business and telephone directories of 1915,
1923, 1926, and 1939,
also give this address. In 1923, Mary Olson, the widow of Hans Olson
and mother of Ida, was living in the household. In 1939, Betty and her husband, Ward Kimball, were
living in the household.
In the 1930 U.S. census. Arthur A., 58, and Ida E., are listed here with their three children;
Louis O., 22, a truck driver for the lumberyard, Richard E., 14, and Betty E., 17.
In the 1940 USA census, Arthur A. Lawyer, 68, and Ida E., 62, were now living alone. They
owned the house, valued at $3,500.
Ida died 18 Feb 1944 in St. Luke Hospital, Altadena. Arthur died 12 May 1945 in the family home.
