Notes: According to family sources, John Thomas Beatty was born 25 May 1869 in Toquerville, Washington, Utah, to John Batty and Mary Ann Duffin. He married Helena Augusta Lamb on 26 Jan 1887, and they had eleven children. Eva Florence Slack was born 17 Dec 1889 in Toquerville, Washington, Utah, to Martin Slack, Jr., and Amelia Theobald.

John Thomas Beatty and Eva Florence Slack were married 1 Feb 1910 in St. George, Washington, Utah. Their marriage produced a family of eleven children. In the 1920 U.S. census, John T. Batty, 50, and his wife Eva S. Batty, 30, were living on State Road Main Street in Toquerville. They owned their farm, free of mortgage, and John was farming on his own account. The children living at home were Ethelyn, 16, Rudgur F., 14, both from John Beatty's first marriage, Rulon S., 9, Irene 5, Hilma, 3, and T. Quentin, 18 months. The oldest four attended school.

In the 1930 U.S. census, John T. Beatty, 60, and his wife Eva F. Beatty, 40, were still living on Main Street, Toquerville. They owned their home, valued at $3,000., and did not have a radio. John was a general farmer. The children living at home were Rulon, S., 19, Irene, 16, Hilma, 14, T. Quentin, 11, Maree, 7, Bessie, 7, Evadeen, 5, and Kathleen, 2. [Grant Dennis probably should have been listed, but the census taker had come to the end of the page.] The oldest six attended school.

John died 26 Oct 1946 in Toquerville, cause of death a coronary occulsion. Eva died 30 Oct 1951 in Toquerville, cause of death a cerebral hemorhage. They are buried in the Toquerville Cemetery, Toquerville, Washington, Utah.
