| Notes: According to family records, Marian Campbell was born in Scotland. Her
parents were Alexander Campbell and Marion Morrison. Her name is sometimes listed in records
as Mary Ann. It is not known when Marion immigrated to Canada. About 1833, Marion married Christian Detwiller, a farmer. Their first farm was located in the Township of Waterloo, Perth, described as 180 acres on Lot 127 on the East side of the Grand River. It was located about 2 miles north of Hespler, and the residence sat next to a lake. Their first child Hannah was born in 1834. The family moved to Fullarton Twp., Perth. Their son Alexander was born in 1836, followed by Agnes, 1839, Henry, 1841, Andrew, 1842, Marion, 1845, Mary, 1847, and John, 1850. In the 1851 Canada census, Marion was living with her husband and 8 children in Motherwell, Fullarton Twp., Lot 31, Concession EMR (East Mitchell Road). Their last child Susan was born in 1853. It is not known when Marion died. However, she does not appear in the 1861 census with the family, where her husband is listed as a widower. She was probably buried in St. Marys Town Cemetery. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
