William married Betty Crane, probably following his service duty, in the early 1930's.  About March 1936, they bought a home in Ontario.  The 1940 U.S. census, and the Ontario, California, City Directory, 1940 lists them living at 1324 Sultana Avenue, Ontario, California.  Bill was listed as a fruit worker.  In 1939 he had made $980.  He later became a foreman with the Upland Lemon Growers Association.  He belonged to the American Legion Post No. 112, Ontario, the YMCA Men's Club, and the Euclid Avenue Camera Club.
