In the 1901 Canada census, Dave was living in Winnipeg City, Manitoba.  He was a carpenter, and was living in the boarding house of Charlie and Isabela Ellis.  The Ellis' had five children, ages 23 to 8, and 17 male lodgers.

Click to enlarge Dave married Ann Jane Detwiller (Annie) on 14 Jun 1910, place unknown.  In the 1911 Canada census, they were living at 371 Pritwood in Winnipeg City, Manitoba.  Annie's sister Elizabeth Wilson, a widow, was living with them.  Dave was a contractor.  They had two sons, namely William born in 1912, and Robert in 1914.  Dave is seen at the left with William, his first son, in 1912.  By the 1916 Manitoba census, Dave and Annie were living at 1129 Sask Ave in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.  Annie's sister Elizabeth was still living with them, and her mother Elizabeth Detwiller, was living with them.  Dave was now listed as a farmer.

Dave and Annie moved to British Columbia.  In the 1921 Canada census, they were living on Amelia Street, Village of Sidney, on the North Saanich Peninsula.  Dave was still farming, and their sons were ages 9 and 7 respectively.

Annie died 5 Dec 1945 in Sidney, British Columbia.  According to family reports, Dave died 26 Sep 1951.  Both are buried in the Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, British Columbia.
