Notes:  John Alexander Flock was born 11 Jan 1886 in Sinclairville, Binbrook Twp., Wentworth, Ontario.  He and his twin George Murray, were the youngest children of Francis Flock and Jane Brown.  They had nine older brothers and sisters, which included two more sets of twins.  Their father was a farmer.  In 1891, their entire family was living in Binbrook Twp., Wentworth South.  The family's religion was listed as Free Church (primarily Presbyterian).  In 1901, only one of their older brothers had left home, and they were listed as Presbyterian.

Sometime after 1901, the family moved to Burlington in Halton County.  Their father Francis, who was now retired, died suddenly on 8 Apr 1911 of a cerebal hemorrhage.  In the 1911 census, Jane, now a widow, was living on Burlington Street, Burlington, with only four of her youngest children.  John and George were now 25 years old, and both were listed as students.  It is not known when Jane died.

John married Minnie Ethel McNaught (known as Ethel) on 5 Nov 1921 in Toronto, Ontario.  Their marriage certificate states that she was 33 years old, and a teacher.  John was 35 years and a "demonstrator".  At some point in time they made their home in the City of Guelph, at 15 Forbes Avenue.  Their only child Murray Alexander was born in 1922, and grew up in Guelph.  John died at home on 19 Jun 1929, suffering from cancer, specifically sarcoma of the foot, with mestastasis in general.  His occupation on the death register was listed as "lecturer", with the initials of probably a college unreadable.  He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph, Wellington, Ontario.
